Johns Manville Nonwovens

A JUNIOR TC steam generator from CERTUSS is used for the production of nonwoven fabric by Johns Manville at its Luoyang facility in China. The complete boiler house installation prefabricated by CERTUSS feeds the production lines for nonwoven fabrics and heaters.

Johns Manville Nonwovens (Luoyang) Co., Ltd. is a Berkshire Hathaway company, a leading producer and marketer of high-quality construction and specialized products such as fibers, nonwoven fabrics and OEM insulation solutions.

For around 20 years, two CERTUSS reference systems with a capacity of 1,300 kg/h each have been running at the Johns Manville facility in Berlin, Germany. Five years ago, CERTUSS received a new order from JM for its new production line in Luoyang. This steam system feeds the production machines during the summer months with 200 to 250 kg/h of steam, three times a day for about 2.5 hours each time. During the winter months, the system generates steam around the clock in full-load operation, as the steam system also supplies the heaters with 100 kg/h in addition to production.

The high safety standard, easy operation and energy conservation of CERTUSS technology were what convinced us.

To me, a major advantage is the automation of the automatic start and switch-off mechanism, dewatering and function monitoring with no supervising personnel.
